Buying and using
How the MegaPass works
Choose a tier and a start date, then use each part once within a year.
- 1
Choose a tier
Essential covers the Acropolis, the museum and the bus. Explorer adds the Cape Sounion sunset tour, 24 hours of public transport and discounts on further sights. - 2
Reserve in your account
Headout sends access to a MegaPass account by e-mail. There you pick the date and time slot for each sight; each part is valid once within 365 days of your start date. - 3
No cancellation
The issuer sells the pass without a refund or a change of date. Reserve the Acropolis slot early in high season, as slots sell out at peak hours.
Weighing it up
What speaks against the MegaPass, and who it is for
Against it: no cancellation and no change of date, and every time slot has to be reserved by you in the MegaPass account rather than being settled at purchase. The included eSIM adds nothing for EU travellers, who roam at home rates anyway. The Cape Sounion tour in the Explorer tier does not include the entry to the Temple of Poseidon, and the museum list ends with the Acropolis Museum.
For whom: visitors from outside the EU who value the data package, anyone who wants the Sounion sunset and a day of public transport in the same purchase, and travellers spreading the essentials over a long stay or two visits within a year. The buyer ratings on this page come from the Headout listing.
Alternatives: the Athens Pass covers the same three parts at fixed slots; the City Pass adds a dozen museums and reserves the Acropolis for you. All four in the comparison.

FAQ
Questions about the MegaPass
Short answers for this pass, everything else on the FAQ page.
What is the difference between Essential and Explorer?+
Essential contains the Acropolis with audio guide, the Acropolis Museum and two days of hop-on hop-off bus. Explorer adds the sunset tour to Cape Sounion without the temple entry, a 24-hour public transport ticket and discounts on further sights.
Do I need to use everything on the same days?+
No. Each part is valid once, on any day within 365 days of the start date you choose. The two bus days are consecutive once you start them, and each sight needs its own reserved date in the MegaPass account.
Is the eSIM useful for me?+
Only if you come from outside the EU. Travellers with an EU contract roam in Greece at home rates and gain nothing from the data package.
