Buying and using
How the City Pass works
Chosen start date, digital delivery, one Acropolis slot. The rules in short.
- 1
Pick a start date
Choose the number of days and the first day when you buy. The pass runs on consecutive days from that date and must be used within twelve months of purchase. - 2
Receive it by e-mail
The pass arrives as a digital pass with a QR code. Save it on your phone and show it at each entrance, no exchange desk needed. - 3
Cancel before it starts
Turbopass refunds the pass up to the day before the first day of validity and keeps a handling fee. Once the pass has started, no refund.
Weighing it up
What speaks against the City Pass, and who it is for
Against it: the days run consecutively, so a rest day in the middle costs you validity. If the Acropolis is your only goal, the single ticket is far cheaper. And public transport is an add-on, not part of the pass, with the airport line excluded either way.
For whom: visitors who spend two to five days in Athens, want the Acropolis and its museum, will actually ride the bus and like to pick up two or three of the smaller houses on the way, from the War Museum to the Kotsanas collections. The reserved Acropolis slot removes the one booking step most people forget.
Alternatives: a shorter list on flexible dates points to the Flex Pass, a fixed one-day plan to the Athens Pass. The full picture is in the comparison.
FAQ
Questions about the City Pass
Short answers for this pass, everything else on the FAQ page.
Do I have to visit the Acropolis on the first day?+

Do children pay less?+
Yes. Children and teenagers from 6 to 17 pay the child rate, EU citizens between 18 and 24 the reduced rate. The current amounts are in the price table above and in the booking step.
