Three ways up the rock, and the rules that apply to all of them
Single ticket with digital guide. The booking above gives you a timed entry and an audio guide in an app. It is the cheapest route if the Acropolis is your only goal, and it needs nothing more than a charged phone and headphones.
Guided tour with skip-the-line entry. A licensed guide takes you up the rock in a small group. Worth it if you want the stories behind the Parthenon, the Erechtheion and the Propylaea rather than a map, and it settles the time slot for you.
Acropolis and Acropolis Museum with a guide. The combined tour visits the site and the museum below it, where the original sculptures are kept. It takes half a day and replaces two separate bookings.
Timed entry is compulsory
Since 2023 the Acropolis admits visitors in hourly slots, ticket or pass. Once your slot has passed, the ticket is void. Mornings from 08:00 and late afternoons are the cooler and calmer hours; the site closes earlier in winter.
What the gate charges
The regular adult price at the state ticket office is EUR 30 all year round; the reduced winter tariff was abolished on 1 April 2025 (checked September 2026). Children and teenagers under 18 enter free, as do EU citizens up to the age of 24 with an ID card, and admission is free for everyone on 6 March, 18 April, 18 May, the last weekend of September, 28 October and the first and third Sunday of each month from November to March. The Acropolis Museum next door sells its own ticket: general admission EUR 20, reduced admission EUR 10 for eligible visitors at the museum desk, and free entry on four days a year, among them 18 May and 28 October.

Yes. Entry to the Acropolis is timed for everyone, with or without a pass. The ticket above is booked for a day and an hourly slot; arrive within that hour, as the ticket is void once the slot has passed.
Who enters the Acropolis free?+
Visitors under 18 and EU citizens up to 24 with an ID card, plus everyone on the free admission days. In that case a pass rarely pays off, unless you want the bus and several museums as well.
